A dual-purpose technology upgrade for a residential community — commercial-grade outdoor audio for the pool area and cloud-based access control protecting the pedestrian gate and clubhouse entrance.
The challenge
What needed to change
TUXFORD HOA needed to address two distinct requirements: providing high-quality background music for the pool and outdoor common areas, and securing the pedestrian gate and clubhouse main door against unauthorized access. The community had no existing audio infrastructure for outdoor spaces, and the entry points relied on basic locks without any credential management or activity tracking. Property managers needed a solution that could handle both amenity enhancement and security improvement without requiring on-site technical staff.
The solution
What we delivered
Media Nexus designed and installed a combined commercial AV and access control system. For audio, a BlueSound commercial streamer with four independent zones was paired with a Labgruppen 4-channel professional audio amplifier and Sonance commercial outdoor speakers — delivering clean, distributed sound across the pool area with support for streaming from multiple internet sources. For security, PDK cloud-based access control was installed on the pedestrian gate and clubhouse main door, featuring high-security encryption and mobile credential support that allows residents to use their smartphones as access credentials. The entire system is managed remotely through cloud-based platforms, requiring no on-site IT staff.

The result
The pool area and clubhouse are now protected by a professional access control system with full audit trail and remote management capability. Residents enjoy high-quality background music at the pool, with property managers able to stream content from different internet sources and control each audio zone independently. The cloud-based architecture means the HOA board can manage access permissions, review entry logs, and adjust audio settings from anywhere — providing both the lifestyle amenity residents expect and the security the community requires.
