A professional-grade audio and video system designed and installed for a school's gymnasium and cafeteria — supporting up to 34 audio channels with wireless mixing, a full speaker array, and wireless microphones for performances, assemblies, and events.
The challenge
What needed to change
As part of a major renovation, Cornerstone Prep Academy needed a comprehensive upgrade to their existing audio and video systems. The gymnasium and cafeteria — two of the most-used spaces in the school — required a system that could handle everything from daily announcements to full theatrical performances and sporting events. The existing equipment was aging, lacked the channel capacity for larger productions, and didn't provide the flexibility the school's staff and student performers needed.
The solution
What we delivered
Media Nexus designed and installed a professional audio and video system covering both the gymnasium and cafeteria. The system includes JBL Professional PA speakers strategically positioned for even coverage in each space, PreSonus digital mixing consoles with mobile mixing software for remote control from anywhere in the room, and a full complement of AKG and JTS professional wireless microphones including handheld units and body packs for performers. A video distribution matrix was also installed to route content to displays throughout both spaces, giving the school a complete AV solution for any type of event.

The result
Cornerstone Prep Academy now has a professional-grade audio and video system that supports up to 34 audio channels — more than enough for full band performances, theatrical productions, assemblies, and daily use. The mobile mixing console software allows staff to control the system from anywhere in the room, eliminating the need for a dedicated sound booth operator. The wireless microphone system gives performers and presenters complete freedom of movement, and the video distribution matrix ensures content can be shared across both spaces seamlessly. The system is intuitive enough for staff to operate daily but powerful enough for the school's most demanding productions.
